Kvs Foundation congratulates Media Development Center on UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development
Julkaistu:A long-standing Palestinian partner of the Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation (Kvs), the Media Development Center (MDC), was awarded the UNESCO-Japan Prize for Education for Sustainable Development on 19 November 2021.
The Prize honours outstanding projects by institutions and organizations related to Education for Sustainable Development.
It os funded by the Government of Japan, and it consists of three annual awards of USD 50,000 for each recipient. It was awarded for the first time by the Director-General of UNESCO in November 2015.
The Prize and award winners recognize the role of education in connecting the social, economic, cultural and environmental dimensions of sustainable development.
The Media Development Center at Birzeit University received recognition especially for its long-term work in promoting media literacy and supporting a sustainable society.
MDC has been cooperating with international partners since 2007 and with the Kvs Foundation since 2015.
Kvs Foundation is currently enrolling third project with Palestinian partners.
The project is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ development co-operation funds.
